My baby 6-12 months

Infants should be exclusively breastfed – i.e. receive only breastmilk – for the first six months of life to achieve optimal growth, development and health. “Exclusive breastfeeding” is defined as giving no other food or drink – not even water – except breastmilk. It does, however, allow the infant to receive oral rehydration salts (ORS), drops and syrups (vitamins, minerals and medicines). Breastmilk is the ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants. If this is not an option Unimilk provides a great alternative.

SEVEN MONTHS OLD

A seven month old baby learns to hold things using his hands. He can easily sit on his own and can even stand for a short interval while holding on to a chair. At this stage, the baby starts to crawl to reach out to different objects that catch his interest.

EIGHT MONTHS OLD

Now that he is eight months old, the baby is constantly moving and perfecting his skills to crawl. He would try to stand at every opportunity that he gets whether he is leaning against the sofa or a table, he will pull himself up so that he can stand with a support.

NINE MONTHS OLD

Babies have a better understanding of things at this stage and they know what can possibly harm them. Your baby may be cruising at this stage and have better coordination with his hands.

TEN MONTHS OLD

The baby tries to speak more often now and if you help him with speaking, he can easily develop the skill. He moves around the house exploring things that attracts his attention.
